The Training Fund offers a variety of classes on different levels for both union members and the community.

The first step to enroll in classes is to come in for an Agency Assessment and to learn more about the Training Fund.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) + Citizenship
    FREE ESL / English Literacy, Citizenship and Civics Classes
    These programs are for non-native speakers of English who want to improve their reading and writing skills to prepare for employment, training, post-secondary education, and the citizenship test.
    English Literacy and Civics students will:

    Electronic Health Record Certificate (EHRC)
    40-week part-time program prepares students to acquire their International Computer Driver’s License (ICDL) and Digital Patient Record Certification (DPRC), and begin a Health Information Career

    Medical Coding Certification Program
    Prepares students for the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) examination and offers 39 college credits that articulate with Camden County College’s Associate Degree in Health Information.

    Pharmacy Technician
    Four-month part-time prepares students for the pharmacy technician certification examination

    Three-month course provides students with the skills necessary to analyze and interpret normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms in a clinical telemetry setting

    Lab Animal Technician
    14-hour training and certification program for employees who work with laboratory animals prepares students for two levels of American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Certification: ALAT (Associate Lab Animal Technician) and LAT (Lab Animal Technician)

    SPD (Supply, Processing & Distribution) Technician
    Intensive part-time program prepares students to attain Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)

    Radiology Board Review Courses
    This is a certification prep course available on an as-needed basis for eligible District 1199C union members only. The course is intended to help professionals who are already working in the field attain industry certifications.

    Nine-month, part-time certificate program prepares students to work in behavioral health fields including mental health, development disabilities and drug/alcohol recovery, and qualifies students to enter Philadelphia University's Behavioral Health Program

    Articulation program to help Behavioral Health workers move up their career ladders; includes 30-Credit Collegiate Certificate and Associate Degree Programs at Philadelphia University.
