Youth Programs
Partnerships with the Philadelphia Youth Network, Philadelphia Academies Inc., the School District of Philadelphia, and Opportunities Industrialization Center of America have enabled the Training Fund to connect youth to careers in healthcare with the following results in 2006-2007:

Outcomes achieved in 2006-2007 include:

  • 53 in school and out of school youth trained as nurse aides

  • 6 Scholarships awarded by Opportunities Industrialization Center of America with funding from US Department of Labor for Practical Nursing to eligible youth who graduated from the nurse aide training ($11,000 per student)

  • assessment tools to measure competencies

  • 220 Philadelphia and Delaware County high school students attended the Fund’s annual Health Careers Fair
