Nurse Aide Part-time Instructor

Description
The Nurse Aide Instructor is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse who has the interest, ability, and knowledge to prepare students to become safe and competent Nurse Aides who can pass the state competency evaluation for Nurse Aides. This person must respect the contribution of Nurse Aides to the healthcare industry.
Instructors teach part time for day or evening classes.

Education/Experience
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • Current license as a Registered or Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a nurse in the long term care industry.
  • Nurse Aide Instructor must first complete Teaching the Educator workshop course, and be approved by PA Department of Education before they may teach any part of a Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP).
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate student learning versus the traditional lecture.
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse student population.
  • Excellent documentation, organizational and computer skills including excel are required. Supervisory experience preferred.
